UMP DKI Jakarta 2026 Almost Final, Governor Pramono Anung Ensures Decisions Are Fair

ABOUT SEMARANG – DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo revealed that the process of discussing the DKI Jakarta Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) for 2026 has entered the final stage.

According to him, all related parties have gone through several stages of discussion, and now they are just waiting for the finalization process which is targeted to be completed in the near future.

“So the discussion is almost final, and this week we will have a special meeting to finalize it immediately,” said Pramono in North Jakarta, Monday.

Even though it is almost complete, Pramono emphasized that the discussion on the 2026 UMP has not yet been finalized because there are differences in views between labor groups and business groups.

The differences mainly concern the amount of the increase, considering that each party has different calculations of economic conditions.

Pramono explained that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) would act as a mediator and decision maker. He ensures that the decisions that will be made later are fair and take into account the interests of all parties.

“The provincial government must be a fair referee, and we will decide the UMP fairly,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli previously said that the central government had completed a survey of decent living needs (KHL) in each province.

This KHL data will be the basis for determining the Regional Minimum Wage (UMR) and UMP for each region in Indonesia.

In his statement in Jakarta on Tuesday (2/12), Yassierli explained that the determination of the minimum wage will experience differences between regions because the KHL amount in each region is also different. In fact, even within one province there may be differences in numbers because each region has different needs and economic conditions.

“It could be higher than last year but it could also be lower,” said Yassierli.

He added that the wage adjustment formula containing official figures for the increase in the UMP will be announced by the government in the near future. Even so, he has not provided further details regarding the quantities or additional indicators that are being considered.

“Just wait,” he said simply.

With the 2026 DKI Jakarta UMP discussion approaching final, the public, especially workers and business actors, are now waiting for the government’s official decision which is expected to provide certainty, maintain workers’ purchasing power, as well as pay attention to the sustainability of the business world in the capital city.***
